Zusammenfassung

Extrakorporale Rotationspumpen werden bevorzugt bei ECMO-Systemen (extrakorporale Membranoxigenation) eingesetzt, können aber auch isoliert als ventrikuläre Unterstützungssysteme verwendet werden. Sie können bei kritisch kranken Patienten im kardiogenen Schock uni- oder biventrikulär verwendet werden, wenn implantierbare LVAD als kontraindiziert angesehen werden. Die Zielsetzung ist ein späteres Weaning oder ein „bridge to bridge“. Bei Verwendung geeigneter Kanülen können die extrakorporalen Pumpen später ganz einfach durch pneumatische parakorporale Pumpkammern (z. B. BerlinHeart Excor) ersetzt und dadurch eine längerfristige Kreislaufunterstützung erreicht werden.
