Zusammenfassung

Es sind vor allem zwei theoretische Konzeptionen und dazugehörige Studien, die unser Verständnis vom assoziativen Lernen geprägt haben. Zum einen kennen wir das klassische Konditionierungslernen, das durch das „Experiment mit dem Hund und der Glocke“ des russischen Mediziners und Physiologen Ivan Petrovič Pavlov (1849–1936) weltbekannt wurde. Anhand dieses Experiments kann man aufzeigen, wie die Bedeutung von Reizen gelernt wird. Zum anderen ist die operante Konditionierung zu nennen, die die Grundlage der behavioristischen Lerntheorie bildet und von Forschern wie Clark Hull oder Burrhus Skinner weiterentwickelt wurde. Sie erklärt, wie wir durch die Konsequenzen unseres Verhaltens lernen.
