Zusammenfassung

PAV („proportional assist ventilation“) oder PPS („proportional pressure support“) ist ein reiner druckunterstützter Spontanatmungsmodus, bei dem die Eigenatmung des Patienten proportional zu seiner Atemanstrengung unterstützt wird. Setzt die Spontanatmung aus, erfolgt bei PAV keinerlei maschinelle Beatmung. Dann muss ein „Sicherheits-“ oder „Hintergrundmodus“ wie CMV anspringen.
