Zusammenfassung
Eine HIV Infektion oder immunsuppressive Medikamente können die Funktionsweise des Immunsystems stark beeinträchtigen. Beobachtungen an HIV-Patienten, Organempfängern und anderen Patientengruppen die langfristig immunsuppressive oder entzündungshemmende Medikamente einnehmen müssen, haben uns vieles über die Entstehungsmechanismen von Krebserkrankungen und die Funktionsweise unseres Immunsystems gelehrt.
