Zusammenfassung
Eine gestörte Kiefer- und Kaufunktion ist nicht selten eine Begleiterscheinung von verschiedenen Erkrankungen. Dieses Kapitel soll einen Ein- und Überblick über verschiedene Pathologien geben, die durch eine Funktionsbeeinträchtigung des orognathen Systems eine Behinderung des Kauens, des Schluckens und ggf. auch der Artikulation nach sich ziehen können und je nach Genese eine besondere Behandlung benötigen.
