Zusammenfassung

Ziel dieses Kapitels ist es, dem interessierten Leser die neurophysiologischen Vorgänge, die dem Verhalten des Menschen und der meisten Säugetiere zugrunde liegen, näherzubringen. Die Kommunikation von Neuronen ist Grundvoraussetzung dafür, dass wir Umweltreize wahrnehmen, verarbeiten und auf sie reagieren können. Berühren wir eine heiße Herdplatte, wird der Reiz über Nervenfasern im peripheren und zentralen Nervensystem zum Thalamus und Cortex geleitet.
