Zusammenfassung
Besondere Infektionen und genetische Erkrankungen können bei Patienten mit Migrationshintergrund lange unentdeckt bleiben. Deshalb sollten diese frühzeitig bedacht und ausgeschlossen werden. In diesem Kapitel werden beispielhaft vor allem die Schistosomiasis und die Sichelzellanämie behandelt. Ebenso werden die Hintergründe einer frühzeitigen Manifestation von kardiovaskulären Erkrankungen und von Diabetes mellitus beleuchtet, die bei afrikanischen Patienten eine frühe und im Falle der Hypertonie andere Therapie erfordern. Prävalenzdaten für Infektionskrankheiten und NCDs (Non Communicable Diseases) von geflüchteten Jugendlichen aus einer eigenen Studie werden summarisch dargestellt. Die Besonderheiten von Infektionsrisiken bei Reisen in die Heimatländer der sogenannten „Visiting Friends and Relatives“ (VFR) spielen für die Präventionsberatung eine große Rolle. Vor dem Hintergrund einer globalen Zuwanderung soll durch diesen Beitrag der Blick für eine globale Krankheits-Epidemiologie geschärft werden.
