Abstract

For many years the open surgical procedures have been the gold standard for release of stiff elbow [1]. The results have been generally good, with low complication rates. Arthroscopic capsular release of stiff elbows has recently been introduced as a safe but technically demanding technique [2]. We describe the details of the procedure and some technical tips and tricks of arthroscopic capsular release of stiff elbow. With these newer methods, arthroscopic capsular release is a safe and effective treatment option for the athlete and older individual.
