Zusammenfassung
Die weit überwiegende Mehrheit der Daten über die Verbreitung des Neuroenhancements erhielt man durch Befragungen von Studenten. Dabei sind die Prävalenzraten für die Einnahme von Kaffee, Energy Drinks und Koffeintabletten mit Abstand am höchsten; die für amphetaminhaltige Stoffe zwar niedriger – sie liegt aber unter Anwendung anonymisierender Befragungstechniken immerhin bei 20 %. Sehr ähnliche Werte liegen für Chirurgen, Wissenschaftler und in der Wirtschaft tätigen Personen vor. Die Behauptung, dass wir in einer (hirn-)gedopten Gesellschaft leben, ist offenbar keineswegs eine Übertreibung.
