Zusammenfassung
In diesem Kapitel diskutieren wir zwei Erweiterungen des Flussmodells aus dem vorherigen Kapitel. Einmal betrachten wir die Situation, in der mehrere Güter durch unser Netz fließen. Zum anderen fragen wir uns, wie wir Netzerweiterungen modellieren können. Mehrere Güter zu berücksichtigen ist essentiell, wenn wir beispielsweise Verkehrsnetze modellieren wollen. Dass die Nutzerinnen unterschiedliche Start- und Zielpunkte haben, ist zentral, um diese Netze korrekt abzubilden. Mehrere Güter treten auch bei Telekommunikationsnetzen auf, anhand derer wir Modelle für das Netzwerkdesignproblem diskutieren. Lösungen dieser Modelle beantworten die Frage, wie ich ein Netz kostenoptimal erweitern kann um damit gegebene Nachfragen zu befriedigen.
