Zusammenfassung
Koronen sind farbige Ringsysteme in Abständen bis etwa 15° um eine Lichtquelle wenn diese durch dünne Wolkenschleier beobachtet wird. Wenn pastellfarbige Wolkenteile in größeren Winkelabständen von bis etwa 30° beobachtet werden spricht man von irisierenden Wolken. Beobachtet man Sonne oder Mond nicht durch Wolken aus Wassertropfen oder Eiskristallen sondern aus Asche oder Staub, beispielsweise nach Vulkanausbrüchen oder Waldbränden, so nennt man die resultierende Korona Bishop’schen Ring.
