Bislang haben wir nur Integrale von Funktionen betrachtet, die auf einem abgeschlossenen Intervall definiert sind. Wollen wir hingegen über ein halboffenes oder offenes Intervall integrieren, so müssen wir den Grenzwertbegriff zurate ziehen, und selbst im Integrationsintervall kann es Probleme geben.
