Zusammenfassung

Das MET stellt peripheren Stationen rund um die Uhr notfall- und intensivmedizinische Expertise zur Verfügung. Das MET muss ortskundig, gut ausgerüstet und trainiert sein. Kommunikative Kompetenzen sind insbesondere zu fordern, um einerseits die unmittelbare Notfallsituation bewältigen zu können, aber auch um nachgelagerte Diagnostik und Therapieeskalation zu organisieren. Dabei ist das MET ein wesentliches Glied in der innerklinischen Rettungskette, das jedoch nur durch eine zeitgerechte Alarmierung das Patientenoutcome verbessern kann.
