Zusammenfassung
Am Fraunhofer-Institut für Umwelt-, Sicherheits- und Energietechnik UMSICHT wird seit einigen Jahren an neuen Formen der Agrarwirtschaft geforscht. Unter den Begriffen „Indoor Farming“, „Urban Agriculture“ oder „Smart Farming“ werden am UMSICHT nicht nur Technologiebausteine zu Belichtung, neuen Pflanzenanzuchtsystemen, neuen Materialien sowie zerstörungsfreier Analytik oder Nährstoffrückgewinnung entwickelt, sondern auch die Pflanzen an eine Kultivierung ohne Erde angepasst. In diesem Kapitel werden beispielhaft Ansätze vorgestellt, die eine zukünftige, auf Transformation ausgerichtete Agrarwirtschaft prägen können.
