Mit verschiedensten Techniken wurde in den letzten Jahrzehnten versucht in perkutanen Verfahren eine Exzision von Bandscheibengewebe oder eine Reduzierung des Bandscheibenvolumens zu erreichen. Die Nukleoplastie ist eine minimalinvasive Technik zur Dekompression des intradiskalen Druckes innerhalb des Nucleus pulposus bei der Bandscheibenprotrusion oder dem nichtsequestrierten Bandscheibenvorfall.
