Zusammenfassung
Methoden der nichtlinearen Optik finden in der modernen Festkörperspektroskopie ein breites Einsatzfeld von der Grundlagenforschung bis zur angewandten Forschung. Experimente mit ultraschnellen Laserpulsen zur Anregung und Abtastung optischer Übergänge in neuartigen Nanostrukturen erlauben uns Rückschlüsse zu elektronischen Zuständen und ihrer Dynamik. Festkörperbasierte Nanostrukturen sind künstliche Materialien mit neuen Funktionalitäten, die so in der Natur nicht vorkommen. Sie sind interessant für Anwendungen in der Optoelektronik, Biophotonik und Photonik sowie für Bauelemente neuer Quantentechnologien. Wir zeigen an Beispielen, wie durch nichtlinear-optische Spektroskopie derartige nanoskalige Materialsysteme in ihren Eigenschaften untersucht und besser verstanden werden können.
