Zusammenfassung
Magnetische Systeme spielen eine bedeutende Rolle in innovativen Techniken wie der Datenspeicherung, Sensorik, Motorik und Energieumwandlung. Moderne Technologien erlauben es, künstliche Funktionswerkstoffe und Materialsysteme auch auf atomarer Skala maßzuschneidern und diese Strukturen sichtbar zu machen, um ein grundlegendes Verständnis und eine gezielte Optimierung zu erreichen. Der zirkulare magnetische Röntgendichroismus und die darauf basierende Röntgentransmissionsmikroskopie bieten hier einzigartige Möglichkeiten. Mit höchster Präzision werden hier atomare magnetische Momente getrennt nach Spin- und Bahnanteil ermittelt. Mit hochbrillianter, polarisierter und gepulster Synchrotronstrahlung kann sogar die Dynamik fundamentaler magnetischer Prozesse und Anregungen gefilmt werden.
