Schnarchen des Erwachsenen

Zusammenfassung

In der Therapie des Schnarchens gibt es zahlreiche grundsätzliche Aspekte zu beachten; von besonderer Bedeutung ist hierbei der Umstand, dass das Schnarchen nach gegenwärtigen Kenntnisstand nicht mit einer gesundheitlichen Gefährdung der Betroffenen verbunden ist. Wie bei jeder Behandlung muss auch hier eine Abwägung zwischen Nutzen und Risiko getätigt werden. Eine „ideale“ Therapie des Schnarchens existiert derzeit nicht. Insbesondere in Bezug auf die therapeutischen Effekte sollten grundsätzlich realistische Erwartungen geweckt werden. Die verfügbaren Therapieverfahren führen in der Regel bei der Mehrzahl der Patienten für eine gewisse Zeit zu einer Verbesserung des Schnarchens. Diese Erfolgsaussichten sind gegenüber dem therapeutischen Aufwand ins Verhältnis zu setzen.
