Wir betrachten das unendliche Produkt (1+x)(1+x2)(1+x3)(1+x4) · · · und entwickeln es auf die übliche Weise in eine Reihe \( \varSigma_{n \ge 0} a_{n} x^{n} \), indem wir all jene Produkte zusammenfassen, welche dieselbe Potenz xn ergeben.
