Zusammenfassung
In diesem Kapitel werden die wesentlichen Grundlagen der Werkstoffgruppen Keramik und Polymere vorgestellt. Zusammen mit den Metallen können daraus Verbundwerkstoffe und Werkstoffverbunde hergestellt werden. Ein Verbundwerkstoff besteht aus einer Matrix, in die viele Teilchen, Fasern etc. regellos oder orientiert eingebettet werden. Zu einem Werkstoffverbund werden zwei Stoffe mit verschiedenen Eigenschaften zusammengefügt. Als Werkstoffe mit besonderen Eigenschaften werden schließlich in diesem Kapitel metallische und keramische Supraleiter, metallische Gläser und Legierungen mit Formgedächtnis ausführlich besprochen.
