Zusammenfassung
Das Händigkeitsprofil ist das Produkt einer Doktorarbeit von Elke Kraus aus dem Jahr 2003. Es ist ein Versuch, der Multidimensionalität der Händigkeit und einer umfassenden Ermittlung gerecht zu werden. Das Händigkeitsprofil wurde über mehrere Studien entwickelt und seit 2003 durch zusätzliche Studien zur Praktikabilität und Reliabilität des Assessments weiter validiert. Die Entstehung, Standardisierung und Weiterentwicklung des Händigkeitsprofils werden neben zusätzlichen Strukturhilfen zur übersichtlichen Zusammenfassung, Analyse und Interpretation in diesem Kapitel vorgestellt. Diese Strukturhilfen können die klinische Entscheidungsfindung der Anwender unterstützen. Das Händigkeitsprofil kann als Beispiel dienen, wie bestimmte Grundsätze und Prinzipien zur Händigkeitsermittlung, die auf zahlreichen Forschungsergebnissen basieren, in der Praxis systematisch und differenziert umgesetzt werden können.

In meinen Ph. D.-Studien nutzte ich noch den Begriff „Coordination/Koordination“. Im Laufe der Entwicklung des Händigkeitsprofils hat sich das in den Begriff „Kooperation“ gewandelt, um die Rollendifferenzierung der Hände besser darzustellen.

In einem weiteren IFAF-geförderten Projekt manDAAD werden nun Alternativen entwickelt, mit denen die motorische Qualität auf andere Art und Weise digital gemessen werden kann, z. B. durch einen Digitalstift (Kraus & Hufnagl, 2017).
