Zusammenfassung
Der Kreislaufstillstand ist meist originär kardialer Genese, etwa im Rahmen einer Myokardischämie. Die Folgen für die zerebrale Perfusion sind vor allem in Abhängigkeit von der Dauer bis zur Aufnahme von Wiederbelebungsversuchen, deren Qualität und von der eigentlichen Reanimationsdauer abhängig. In diesem Kapitel werden die zerebralen Folgen unzureichender Reanimationen besonders thematisiert. Bezug wird ebenfalls genommen auf die gültigen Reanimationsleitlinien sowie auf die gegenwärtige wissenschaftliche Datenlage zu prognostischen Erwägungen. Auch die Postreanimationsbehandlung zur Prognoseverbesserung wird angeschnitten.
