Zusammenfassung

Die Adenomyose ist nach heutigem Kenntnisstand offensichtlich für viele der klinischen Symptome verantwortlich, die ursprünglich der Endometriose zugesprochen wurden. Das Kapitel stellt die aktuellen Aspekte der Diagnostik sowie den Kenntnisstand zu unterschiedlichen therapeutischen Optionen der Adenomyose dar. Eine ursächliche Therapie vor allem bei bestehendem Kinderwunsch ist insbesondere bei der diffusen Form nicht möglich. Es bestehen noch offene Fragen zur Effektivität und klinischen Relevanz einzelner Verfahren.
