Zusammenfassung

Die Erkennung der Viabilität der menschlichen Metaphase-II-Oozyten ist in der Literatur des letzten Jahrzehnts ein kontrovers diskutiertes Thema. Die Entwicklung der Oozyten während der follikulären Maturation ist entscheidend für ihre Fähigkeit, eine normale Fertilisation sowie die folgenden embryonalen Entwicklungsschritte zu durchlaufen. Die komplette physiologische Reifung der Eizelle erfordert konzertiert ablaufende nukleäre und zytoplasmatische Prozesse, um optimale zelluläre Bedingungen herzustellen. Abweichungen von diesen optimalen Prozessen führen zu Eizellen, deren Qualitätseinschränkungen sich in verschiedenen Dysmorphien ausdrücken und im weiteren Verlauf dann unter Umständen nicht zu der gewünschten Implantation führen.
