Zusammenfassung
In diesem Kapitel wird Sinnerleben als ein zentrales Ergebnis von Anerkennung betrachtet. Wird die geleistete Arbeit von anderen anerkannt, trägt das zum Sinnerleben der Beschäftigten bei und geht mit einer höheren Bereitschaft einher, Überstunden in diese Arbeit zu investieren. Wird der geleisteten Arbeit wenig Anerkennung entgegengebracht, beeinträchtigen Überstunden die Gesundheit deutlich. Neben der Anerkennung spielen auch die Gründe für Überstunden eine Rolle für die Gesundheit. Bisher wurden dabei vorwiegend unfreiwillige Überstunden (betriebliche Gründe) untersucht, weitere Gründe für Überstunden aber außer Acht gelassen. In diesem Kapitel werden drei Gründe beschrieben: Überstunden aufgrund von Spaß an der Arbeit, aufgrund betrieblicher Gründe und aufgrund des Arbeitspensums. Basierend auf den Daten der BAuA-Arbeitszeitbefragung 2015 wird untersucht, welche Rolle diese Gründe sowie die Anerkennung für geleistete Arbeit für den Zusammenhang von Überstunden mit Gesundheit, Work-Life-Balance und Zufriedenheit spielen. Die Ergebnisse zeigen, dass Überstunden aufgrund des Arbeitspensums aber auch aufgrund von Spaß an der Arbeit Bezüge zur interessierten Selbstgefährdung aufweisen.
