Zusammenfassung
Eine zentrale Frage der Sozialpsychologie ist, wann und warum sich Menschen sozialem Einfluss beugen. Oft sind Einflussphänomene erstaunlich in ihrer Stärke und bedenklich in ihren Auswirkungen. Klassische und neue Experimente zur sozialen Konformität und zum Gehorsam gegenüber Autorität zeichnen ein differenziertes Bild, das die Menschen nicht unbedingt als passive Opfer dieser Einflüsse darstellt. Gegenläufige Effekte, wie der Einfluss von resoluten Minderheiten auf Gruppenentscheidungen, bezeugen die Vielschichtigkeit des Verhaltens einzelner in der Gruppe.
