Psychoonkologische Aspekte beim Vulva- und Vaginalkarzinom

Zusammenfassung

Gynäkoonkologische Erkrankungen und insbesondere das Vulva- und Vaginalkarzinom gehen mit einer Vielzahl psychosozialer Belastungen einher, die noch lange nach Abschluss der Therapie zu einer verminderten Lebensqualität beitragen können. Der Einfluss sexueller Funktionsstörungen auf die Lebensqualität wird von Behandlern häufig unterschätzt. Zu erwartende Einschränkungen und Umgangsmöglichkeiten sollten möglichst frühzeitig, d. h. vor Beginn der Therapie, angesprochen werden, um Fehlinformationen zu verringern und Hemmungen, Scham und Schuldgefühlen entgegenzuwirken. Des Weiteren sollten Behandler Informationsmaterial über Einschränkungen und Hilfsmittel für Patientinnen und auch ihre Partner bereithalten und im Verlauf sowie nach Abschluss der Therapie aktiv auf möglicherweise vorhandene sexuelle Funktionsstörungen eingehen.
