Zusammenfassung
Neben Nerven- und Immunsystem hat auch die Psyche einen Einfluss auf die Tränensekretion und damit einen Anteil an der Entstehung der Keratokonjunktivitis sicca. Diese neuropsychoimmunologischen Aspekte können beispielsweise durch psychosomatische und psychotherapeutische Methoden oder Akupunktur beeinflusst werden. Auch die Ernährung greift in den Pathomechanismus des Sicca-Syndroms ein. So können Nahrungsergänzungsmittel mit Omega-3- und Omega-6-Fettsäuren bei Meibomdrüsendysfunktion hilfreich sein.
