Zusammenfassung
Unsere Zukunft soll nachhaltig werden! Dieses Ziel haben sich die Vereinten Nationen in ihrer 2030-Agenda gegeben. Dies bedeutet vor allem, dass ein fundamentaler Wandel zu nachhaltigeren Managementpraktiken benötigt wird, in Anbetracht der Tatsache, dass Unternehmen eine wichtige Rolle in der Förderung einer rein wirtschaftlich angetriebenen Entwicklung in den vergangenen Jahren gespielt haben – mit verheerenden Konsequenzen für unseren Planeten. Hochschulen sind die Hauptverantwortlichen für die Vermittlung von Managementwissen und -kompetenzen und haben somit die Verantwortung, zukünftige Manager und Fachkräfte zu nachhaltig und ethisch handelnden Menschen auszubilden. Am Fallbeispiel der Cologne Business School wird in diesem Beitrag der erste Versuch unternommen, den Einfluss einer nachhaltigen Managementlehre auf die Arbeitgebererwartungen und Arbeitswerte der Managementstudierenden zu messen. Wünschen sich Studierende, die eine nachhaltige Managementausbildung erhalten haben eher einen Arbeitgeber, der sich durch seine nachhaltigen Praktiken auszeichnet? Ist es ihnen wichtig, dass sie Tätigkeiten ausführen können, die sie für gesellschaftlich wertvoll halten? Oder ist die „Generation Y“ nicht generell eine nachhaltigkeitsaffine Generation, auch ganz ohne nachhaltige Managementlehre? Diesen Fragen geht der folgende Text nach.
