Das Kapitel beschreibt die häufigsten Komplikationen der laparoskopischen Operation von primären und sekundären Hernien der vorderen Bauchwand (Darmverletzung, Wundinfektion, Netzinfektion, Serom, chronischer Schmerz, Rezidiv sowie die möglichen allgemeinen Komplikationen), ihre Ursachen, Therapie und Vorbeugung. Darüber hinaus werden ausführlich die Ergebnisse der wissenschaftlichen Publikationen zusammengetragen, auf ihre Evidenz geprüft und entsprechende Empfehlungen ausgesprochen.
