Zusammenfassung

Ob eine Person resilient ist, Stresssymptome zeigt oder gar an einer Belastungsstörung erkrankt, hängt von zahlreichen Faktoren ab. Dieses Kapitel befasst sich im ersten Teil mit der Frage, was individuelle Resilienz ist. Die Grundlagen persönlicher Resilienz wie Schutz- und Risikofaktoren und resilienzstärkende Bewältigungsstrategien werden besprochen. Weiterhin werden die Zusammenhänge zwischen Resilienz, positiven Emotionen und psychologischen Grundbedürfnissen des Menschen aufgezeigt und neuronale Prozesse in Stresssituationen beleuchtet. Im zweiten Teil des Kapitels geht es darum, wie sich individuelle Resilienz auf der Grundlage eines ganzheitlichen Ansatzes und in vier Phasen stärken lässt. Dabei kommt das Modell des persönlichen Resilienzkompasses zum Einsatz. Ausgewählte Interventionen wie Meditation, Stärkenausrichtung, Arbeit an der eigenen Einstellung und Umgang mit Emotionen werden vorgestellt.
