Im Herbst 1983 findet im sibirischen Akademgorodok eine faszinierende Life-Vorführung zur Entwicklung von Kombinationspharmaka gegen Lungenentzündung unterschiedlich vorbelasteter Risikopatienten durch Computersimulationen statt. Ausgangspunkt: Inputwerte bilden chemische Strukturen, der Output ihre pharmazeutischen Wirkungen. Jeder Zuhörer hat das Recht, Patienten mit anderen Krankheitsbildern vorzuschlagen.
