Zusammenfassung
In diesem Kapitel analysieren wir grundsätzliche Fragen der Approximation. Dabei sei \( \mathcal{F} \) ein linearer Raum, ausgestattet mit einer Norm ∥.∥, und \( \mathcal{S} \) ⊂ \( \mathcal{F} \) eine nichtleere Teilmenge von \( \mathcal{F} \). Bei der Approximation eines f ∈ \( \mathcal{F} \)\\( \mathcal{S} \) durch Elemente aus \( \mathcal{S} \) sind wir daran interessiert, ein s* ∈ \( \mathcal{S} \) zu finden, dessen Abstand zu f minimal ist unter allen Elementen aus \( \mathcal{S} \). Dies fürt uns sofort zu dem Begriff der Bestapproximation.
