Abstract
Mastopexy presents one of the greatest challenges to the breast surgeon. The aesthetic goal is to give the breast a more youthful appearance by improving projection, reducing ptosis, and restoring upper pole fullness. Numerous techniques that provide improvement in the shape of the breast often create multiple scars. Breast implants, with or without mastopexy, will restore volume in the upper pole, but they present specific properties, risks, and complications.
