Zusammenfassung

Die Achillessehnenruptur ist eine häufige und klinisch gut zu diagnostizierende Sehnenverletzung. Das weltweite Spektrum der Behandlungsmethoden ist sehr breit. Es reicht von der konservativen Therapie bei der unkomplizierten, frischen Ruptur über die verschiedensten Formen der minimal-invasiven Wiederherstellung der Sehnenkontinuität bis zur offenen Sehnennaht mit Augmentation. Selbst in den einzelnen Therapiegruppen finden sich erhebliche, auch konträre Behandlungselemente. Qualitätskriterium für die Beurteilung einer Therapie der Achillessehnenruptur ist einerseits die Vermeidung der Kardinalkomplikationen Reruptur und tiefer Sehneninfekt, andererseits die funktionelle Wiederherstellung des Patienten.
