Zusammenfassung
Der Abbau der meisten Aminosäuren beginnt mit der Entfernung der a-Aminogruppe durch PLP-abhängige Transaminasen. Sammelpunkt und wichtige Transportform für die Aminogruppen ist Glutaminsäure, die in der Leber oxidativ desaminiert werden kann. Serin und Threonin können ebenfalls direkt desaminiert werden.
