Zusammenfassung

Die chronische Obstipation stellt ein relativ häufiges Krankheitsbild dar und kann die Lebensqualität der Betroffenen deutlich negativ beeinflussen. Die Ursachen sind sehr heterogen, sodass eine interdisziplinäre Zusammenarbeit verschiedener Fachrichtungen erforderlich ist. Chirurgische Interventionen kommen erst nach Ausschöpfung aller konservativen Maßnahmen in Betracht.

Das Kapitel wurde von A. Ommer verfasst, mit Ausnahme des Abschnitts 9.5.1 (H. Krammer), des Abschnitts «Transanale Staplerresektion (STARR, Transtar)» (F. Hetzer) sowie des Abschnitts «Levatorplastik» (A. Shafik) in 9.6.2.
