Zusammenfassung

Schlafprobleme, die durch nächtliche Atmungsstörungen oder durch internistische Erkrankungen (mit) verursacht werden, zählen zur Gruppe der organisch bedingten Schlafstörungen (G47: ICD-10). Bei Verdacht ist eine Abklärung durch einen Schlafmediziner, Internisten oder Pneumologen unbedingt notwendig. Zur Diagnosestellung steht eine Reihe von ambulanten Untersuchungsmethoden zur Verfügung (z. B. sog. Apnoescreener), eine Untersuchung in einem Schlaflabor ist nicht zwingend notwendig. Schlafcoaching-Maßnahmen bei schlafbezogenen Atmungsstörungen und internistischen Erkrankungen konzentrieren sich hauptsächlich auf Änderungen in der Lebensführung (z. B. Gewichtsreduktion, Vermeidung von zusätzlichen Risikofaktoren) sowie in der Motivation der Betroffenen zur Einhaltung der Therapiemaßnahmen.
