Zusammenfassung

Die existenzielle Bedrohung, welche schwer und chronisch Kranke erleben, erfordert eine besondere Beachtung der haltgebenden und unterstützenden therapeutischen Beziehung. Gleichzeitig kann es sinnvoll und nötig sein, überdauernde Konflikte, welche die aktuellen Beziehungen beeinträchtigen, zu bearbeiten. Im Rahmen der psychodynamischen Verfahren wurden spezielle ressourcenorientierte und supportiv-expressive Methoden entwickelt, welche für die Behandlung dieser Patienten besonders geeignet sind. Daneben muss sich die Therapie auch Grundfragen der Existenz und der Sinnfindung widmen.
