Zusammenfassung
Vitamine sind lebensnotwendige organische Verbindungen, die unter normalen Bedingungen in ausreichenden Mengen in der Nahrung für Erwachsene enthalten sind. Eine zusätzliche Gabe von Vitaminen ist nur bei ungenügender Zufuhr (z. B. Reduktionskost, Vegetarier), erhöhtem Bedarf (z. B. Säuglinge, Schwangere, Dialysepatienten) oder bei Resorp tionsstörungen (z. B. perniziöse Anämie) indiziert (Übersicht bei Pietrzik et al. 2008). Der weitaus größte Anteil der verordneten Tagesdosen entfällt auf Vitamin-D-Präparate (Abbildung 46.1).
