Zusammenfassung
In der Europäischen Union (EU) existieren heute vier unterschiedliche Verfahren, um Arzneimittel mit neuen Wirkstoffen („new active substances“) zuzulassen: das zentralisierte Verfahren, das auf Basis von nur einem Zulassungsantrag bei der Europäischen Arzneimittel-Agentur (EMA) die Zulassung ermöglicht in allen Mitgliedsstaaten des Europäischen Wirtschaftsraumes (EWR; EU-Mitglieder plus Island, Lichtenstein, Norwegen); die nationalen Zulassungsverfahren, die zur Zulassung in den jeweiligen Staaten führen; zwei gemeinschaftliche Verfahren, die zur Zulassung in zwei oder mehreren EU-Staaten führen (Bundesinstitut für Arzneimittel und Medizinprodukte).
