Zusammenfassung

Die erste und sehr effektive Maßnahme zum Freihalten der Atemwege ist der Handgriff nach Esmarch. Er ist die Grundlage für korrektes Positionieren weiterer Atemhilfen, orales Absaugen und Maskenbeatmung. Weitere Atemhilfen sind z. B. der Guedel- und der Wendel-Tubus, die in diesem Kapitel vorgestellt werden.
