Lebensqualität bei CRS und HIPEC

Zusammenfassung

Das Konzept der maximalen chirurgischen Tumorreduktion (CRS) in Kombination mit intraperitonealer hyperthermer Chemotherapie (HIPEC) kann in ausgewählten Fällen das Überleben der Patienten deutlich verlängern. Neben der Lebenszeitverlängerung spielt aber die Lebensqualität in dieser Zeit eine große Rolle. In den Anfangsjahren des Therapiekonzeptes wurde dessen Sinnhaftigkeit vor allem durch Onkologen mit dem Verweis auf eine hohe Morbidität und Mortalität des Eingriffes angezweifelt. Erst in den letzten Jahren konnte wissenschaftlich mit den entsprechenden Studien der Beweis geliefert werden, dass die Lebensqualität der betroffenen Patienten im Langzeitverlauf nach dem Eingriff mit der der Normalbevölkerung vergleichbar ist.
