Zusammenfassung

Das Urothelkarzinom der Harnblase ist eine der häufigsten Tumorerkrankungen weltweit. In den westlichen Ländern der EU treten jährlich etwa 90.000 neue Erkrankungen auf, die Inzidenz liegt bei 27 bzw. 6 pro 100.000 Personen pro Jahr für Männer bzw. Frauen (Ferlay et al. 2008). Etwa 75 % der Fälle sind bei der Erstdiagnose nicht muskelinvasiv (Tumorstadien pT2–4), sondern exophytisch und auf die Mukosa beschränkt (pTa), die Lamina propria infiltrierend (pT1) oder bei geringer Differenzierung intraepithelial (Carcinoma in situ, CIS).
