Zusammenfassung
In diesem Kapitel werden die wissenschaftshistorischen Entwicklungslinien der Motivationsforschung aufgezeigt. Die eigentliche Motivationsforschung lässt sich in 4 konzeptuell unterscheidbare Problemstränge aufgliedern: 1. Ansätze zu Willensphänomenen, die diese als von außen verursacht (heterogenetische Position) oder von innen betrieben (autogenetische Position) auffassen und phänomenologisch oder experimentell erforschen. 2. instinkttheoretische Ansätze, die Motivationsinhalte mit mehr oder weniger umfänglichen Listen von Instinkten charakterisierten und Motivationsprozesse mit verhaltensethologischen Konzepten zu erfassen suchen. 3. persönlichkeitstheoretische Ansätze, die danach unterschieden werden können, ob sie motivationspsychologisch, kognitionspsychologisch oder persönlichkeitspsychologisch ausgerichtet sind. 4. den assoziationstheoretischen Problemstrang, der sich aus lernpsychologischen und aktivationspsychologischen Ansätzen zusammensetzt.
