Zusammenfassung
Die maschinelle Beatmung ist Teil eines therapeutischen Gesamtkonzeptes und mit teilweise erheblichen Gefahren verbunden. Sie muss daher umfassend überwacht werden. Die Überwachung der Beatmung umfasst folgende Komponenten: Funktion des Beatmungsgeräts, Interaktion von Patient und Beatmungsgerät, Überwachung des Beatmungserfolgs, d. h. der Oxygenierung, der Elimination von CO2 und des Säure-Basen-Gleichgewichts.
