Durch die Bauchlagerung, d. h. durch Umlagerung des Patienten um 180° aus der Rückenlage, sollen bei Patienten mit ARDS der pulmonale Gasaustausch verbessert, Lungenschäden vermindert und Sekrete mobilisiert werden.
