Zusammenfassung
Nach der Filterung und der Aufbereitung durch den Präprozessor werden die akzeptierten Ereignisse durch die CEP Engine bearbeitet, deren Aufgabe darin besteht, Mengen von atomaren Ereignissen als Instanzen eines interessanten Musters zu identifizieren.

Die Bezeichnung „Regular Consumption Mode“ wurde verwendet, da für diesen Mode noch keine Quelle mit einem Namen gefunden wurde. Diese Art des Konsumierens ist ähnlich dem Erkennen einer regulären Sprache durch einen endlichen Automaten.
