Zusammenfassung
Die sog. idiopathische Fazialisparese ist die häufigste Form einer Gesichtslähmung. Ihre Ursache ist nach wie vor nicht überzeugend geklärt. Der vorliegende Beitrag beschreibt allgemeinverständlich die Folgen, Behandlungsmöglichkeiten, eventuelle Komplikationen und Prognose dieser Nervenlähmung.
