Zusammenfassung

Formales Mentoring spielt in der medizinischen Ausbildung, genauso wie in anderen Branchen, eine essenzielle Rolle. Richtiges und gutes Mentoring lässt Studierende erfolgreicher, effektiver und zufriedener sein. Im Gegensatz zu Programmen in Unternehmen setzen studentische Mentoring-Programme sehr früh in der Karriereplanung an. Insbesondere Medizinstudierende schlagen unterschiedliche Wege nach Studienabschluss ein. Dies stellt eine große Herausforderung für formale Mentoring-Programme dar. An der medizinischen Fakultät der LMU München wurde ergänzend zum Medizinischen Curriculum München (MeCuM) ein groß angelegtes One-to-One-Mentoring-Programm namens MeCuM-Mentor implementiert. Um den cross-sektoralen Bedarf abzudecken, fungieren als Mentoren sowohl klassische Ärzte (in der Patientenversorgung tätig), als auch Ärzte, die andere Karrierewege eingeschlagen haben. Zudem können geschlechts- und kulturspezifische Besonderheiten berücksichtigt werden. In diesem Kapitel werden über den Bedarf, die Umsetzung und die fast 10-jährige Erfahrung mit dem Programm berichtet.
